Inline VSWR Sensors
Most Radio receivers or transmitters rely on a digital signal processor to determine if the antenna(s) are in good working condition. This is fine for many cases, but where system performance is critical the only option is to implement an active method to monitor antenna performance. There are many approaches possible, but a VSWR measurement is the simplest and provides clear insight into the functionality and performance of an antenna.
These sensors are very low loss, and intended to be installed inline between the antenna and RF front end. Normally, they are a pass-through for RF signals and they draw very little DC power. When toggled into an active state, they switch in Apsis Tech developd RF circuitry to provide an analog voltage output proportional to VSWR.
